Friends September Newsletter

It is easy to see the similarities in the network of veins in our own hands with the vascular system of a sea grape leaf. As Leo Tolstoy wrote: “One of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between man and nature shall not be broken.” One only must stand in the ocean along the shores of Trunk Bay, or any one of Virgin Islands National Park beaches, to know this to be true.

There is truly something special about feeling a connection to the natural world around us. Now that school is back in session, we are focused on helping ensure all of our youth feel that connection. We look forward to another busy year bringing more than 1,000 school-going youth into their National Park.

Thank You! It is your dues as a member that fund our programs year after year! Today, we are seeing youth that started their conservation education with our School Kids In The Park (SKIP) program graduate college with master’s degrees in Marine Science and Engineering. Wow! Talk about a team effort. We are making a positive impact over generations!
