Friends of Virgin Islands National Park events and seminars celebrate the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Virgin Islands National Park. These events run from November to June and aim to educate and connect visitors and the St. John community with the Park, as well as serving as fundraising opportunities in support of our programs.
Hikes, Seminars, Boat Excursions, Turtle Talks & More
Explore and learn about Virgin Islands National Park through a series of hikes, nature & culture walks, boat trips, turtle talks, and more. This program runs November to June.

Our walkup trails volunteer program and our campground run from November to June. Looking forward to seeing you out on the trails!
Learn To Swim Sessions
Free classes for all ages over 4. First and third Saturdays at Cinnamon Bay Beach.
Virtual Seminars
Friends Virtual Seminars and Webinars explore subjects related to the protection and preservation of the park's natural and cultural resources.
Ocean Week
Marine debris and trash on our shores and in our oceans is a problem. Join us every October for a week of beach and ocean clean-ups; seminars, and student education opportunities!
Villa Auction & Fundraiser
Our Annual Villas For The Park auction takes place in November! Win an amazing vacation and make a difference in helping protect and preserve Virgin Islands National Park!
Paddle the Park
This fun SUP fundraiser kicks off the season in November. All three courses start and end at Maho Bay Beach!
Annual General Meeting
This meeting takes place in January and is open to all members of the public.
Annual Gala
This annual fundraiser takes place at the beginning of February.
Folk Life Festival / Culture Days
Visit the poster and photo galleries and enjoy the 2021 documentary illuminating this annual celebration of the cultural gifts of the Virgin Islands. Watch the interviews with a moko jumbie, a storyteller, a maubi maker, a beekeeper, and more cultural ambassadors.
Earth Day
A week long celebration in April to learn about recycling and environmental issues, including with trash pickup, and tree giveaways!
Beach To Beach Power Swim
Every Memorial Day weekend, swimmers take to the beautiful waters of St. John to raise funds for kids swim programs and marine conservation and education outreach!
