Friends September Newsletter

Here on island, it’s a time of change and new beginnings. Laughing gulls are departing, sea turtles are nesting, and kids are back in school. It is a time of hope and potential as we look ahead to a new season.

As our Park’s official philanthropic partner, this is the time of year when we consider how we can best support our Park and meet our mission in the coming year. Since we know our Park’s unique cultural and natural resources are best preserved when people connect with their Park – this is also the time for planning the season’s seminars, guided hikes, tours, educational activities, and special events!

Of course, all of this planning requires confidence that we can and will deliver, and that our members and supporters know the value of our work. I am proud to let you know that Friends of Virgin Islands National Park holds a Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid’s GuideStar providing a third party affirmation as to the strength of our organization and the effectiveness of our work. Our youth programs, for example, are robust and growing as evidenced in our 2023/24 Youth Program Report which I invite you to read.

Your donations and support make us possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you are interested in making a contribution and have questions. May you enjoy the change of season and the last of the summer rays wherever you are!
