Friends August Newsletter

Priceless is the only word to describe the joy of confidently laying back in the blue water of Cinnamon Bay on a sunshine day! In our August Newsletter we celebrate another great Summer in The Park.

This summer 180 kids from four camps attended lessons through our Learn To Swim Program. We remain passionately committed to teaching every island child, and as many adults as possible, to swim. Beyond a safety issue, being able to swim opens a world of wonder above and below the water as well as a number of employment opportunities in the tourism and marine industries and areas like marine research and conservation.

With the joy and laughter of our summer youth programs still ringing in our ears, we shift gears and look to the 2025/26 season. We are currently in the midst of planning resource allocation and programming with the park team under the leadership of Penelope Del Bene, our superintendent.

Thanks to you and your generosity, we are privileged to be able to continue to deliver a wide range of programs that support the National Park Service in assuring the park’s unique terrestrial and marine resources are protected, the Virgin Islands’ cultural treasures in the park are preserved, and visitors and community are connected to their park through volunteerism and education. Your engagement and support matters!
