Jaguars of Brazil: Bridging Science and Tourism

Cinnamon Campground Chat | March 24 

Skipper and zoologist, Abbie Martin heads south to the Northern Pantanal during the off season to work on Jaguar conservation and identification! Join her to learn more about the Jaguar Identification Project she founded. The conservation of this endangered species is not dissimilar to the work being done with sea turtles on St. John particularly when it comes to facial markings and identification. This presentation takes place on Monday, March 24 from 6pm to 7pm in the Raintree Cafe at Cinnamon Campground. All are welcome.

Hear from scientists and engineers at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution about innovative new tools and techniques designed to improve the health of coral reefs in St. John and around the world. This presentation takes place on Monday, April 7 from 6pm to 7pm in the Raintree Cafe at Cinnamon Campground. All are welcome.

Reef Bay Hike is a guided hike that includes a boat pickup at the beach. It is a great opportunity to learn about and explore the natural gifts and rich history of the island!

This unique experience is hosted by a sea turtle, coral and marine expert and explores the marine underworld in Virgin Islands National Park. Boat departs from St. Thomas and St. John.

Trail Volunteers

Volunteer on the walk up trail crew on Tuesdays and Thursdays to end of May and help us maintain trails, clear historical sites, plant trees, and remove trash! Work locations and meeting times are posted on Mondays on Facebook and instagram.

Annaberg Cultural Program

Nov to June | Mon to Wed | 10AM to 2PM 

Learn from a local cultural demonstrators about bread making, local food, plants, and more. A visit to the Annaberg plantation and historic site is a must-do for anyone interested in Virgin Islands history and culture.

Stop by the sea turtle info table on the beach at Maho Bay under the pavilions to chat about turtles and marine life in the bay with the Sea Turtle Monitoring and Protection Program team and volunteers.

Meet at 7:30am at the George Francis factory ruins and join retired park ranger and bird lover, Laurel Brannick as she shares her knowledge about all things feathered on St. John.
