Annual Meeting

Friends of Virgin Islands National Park is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of community-oriented leaders who represent a variety of interests in the Virgin Islands from both the public and private sectors. The Board holds an Annual Meeting to fill any vacant positions and to update members on the state of the organization, the state of the Park, and listen to feedback from the community. This public meeting usually takes place in January.

At the most recent meeting on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Cinnamon Bay Beach & Campground, the keynote address was delivered by Ki’Janne Alfred who is a member of the Friends Young Professionals Board and a former recipient of the Friends Noble Samuel Scholarship and Internship. The Annual Meeting also included an update from Virgin Islands National Park Superintendent, Penelope “Penny” Del Bene, and remarks from Friends Executive Director, Tonia Lovejoy, as well as a question and answer session.
