Annual Meeting Notice

PRESS RELEASE | Friends of Virgin Islands National Park’s Annual Meeting will take place on Saturday, January 24 from 11AM to 2PM at the The Raintree Cafe at Cinnamon Bay Beach & Campground. This public meeting is open to all and is an opportunity for Friends of Virgin Islands National Park and community leaders to deliver updates on priorities for the organization and the park, and to listen to feedback from the community.

The keynote address will be delivered by Deb Yandala, a consultant with the National Park Foundation, who will envision the park system in 2036. Deb worked in Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio for 32 years including serving as the President and CEO of the Conservancy until recently.

The Annual Meeting will also include an update from Virgin Islands National Park Superintendent, Penelope “Penny” Del Bene, remarks from Friends Executive Director, Tonia Lovejoy, Executive Board business, and a question and answer session. Following the meeting, guests are invited for a social hour at which light refreshments and lunch will be served.

It is high season so parking at Cinnamon Bay Beach & Campground will be limited. Shuttles will be arranged to and from both Caneel Bay and Coral Bay.

The meeting is free. Please register here so we can determine shuttle and refreshment requirements.
