Culture & Community Projects

Integral to the mission of the Friends organization is the preservation of the Virgin Islands' cultural treasures in the Park, and the importance of connecting visitors and community to their Park.  Each year, we undertake a number of shorter term projects that give voice to the cultural heritage of the Virgin Islands.

Friends is currently working with Cultural Ambassador, artisan, teacher, and musician, Ital Delroy Anthony on a book that invites readers to take A Walk In The Bush With Ital.

Meeting Of The Chiefs

A gathering of indigenous Caribbean leaders who met on St. John and visited significant cultural heritage sites in Virgin Islands National Park including traveling to the Taino petroglyph site in Reef Bay.
