Easy Beach Shuttle Pilot Program Launching 

Press Release | December 18, 2024 – Friends of Virgin Islands National Park is launching the Easy Beach Shuttle Program to help encourage more people to park and ride in Virgin Islands National Park. This is a pilot transportation program operating from December 22, 2024 to May 30, 2025 during which time, visitors can park for free at Caneel Bay and taxi to Trunk Bay Beach or any of the other popular North Shore beaches.

“There have been significant increases over the years in road traffic and over parking at North Shore beaches causing safety issues and damaging natural and cultural resources,” said Tonia Lovejoy, Executive Director of Friends of Virgin Islands National Park. “As community leaders discuss similar challenges and potential solutions, we would like to see what we can do now to address this particular issue and gauge our capacity to direct visitors to a new transportation option in the park.”

Free parking will be available in Caneel Bay Lot A and shuttles to North Shore beaches departing Caneel are scheduled for 9:00am, 11:00am, and 1:00pm. At all times, visitors may catch any safari bus/taxi passing by. Safari buses/taxis run regularly up and down North Shore until 5:00pm making it easy to return to Caneel Bay.
