Lionfish Prevention Program - Training Volunteers to Identify and Remove the Invasive Lionfish from VI National Park and its Waters

Lionfish Prevention is one of several conservation and protection programs supported by Friends of Virgin Islands National Park. We partner with the Caribbean Oceanic Restoration and Education Foundation (C.O.R.E.) to beat the odds and help train first responders to spot, report and kill lionfish in Virgin Islands National Park. Since its inception C.O.R.E. has trained more than 100 volunteers.  Considering a single lionfish can eat dozens of juvenile reef fish, this work is impressive and vital!
