DESCRIPTION:Join scientists and engineers at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and hear about innovative new tools and techniques designed to improve the health of coral reefs in St. John and around the world. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) is the world’s premier independent organization dedicated exclusively to ocean research\, technology\, and education. Their Reef Solutions team is developing solutions to rebuild reefs and improve coral resilience–before it’s too late. Since 2021\, and in partnership with University of Virgin Islands\, National Park Service and CORE\, they have applied their advanced diagnostics and interventions Toolkit to reef ecosystems in the US Virgin Islands. This presentation takes place on Monday\, April 7 from 6pm to 7pm in the Raintree Cafe at Cinnamon Campground. All are welcome.

The trail crew clears and cleans trails for hikers\, and ensures that erosion and other issues are addressed. It is a great opportunity to explore new parts of St. John and help protect and preserve the Park! Join us!\n\nMeeting points and work locations are posted on Facebook and instagram on Mondays. Work is usually done by 2pm.\n\nWhile we work to accommodate the skills\, ages\, and capabilities of every group of volunteers\, this is physical work in hot weather! You will need closed sneakers or hiking boots\, preferably long pants\, water\, lunch\, and a hat.
